As they tease the upcoming release of their new album later this year, Swedish occult-themed rock act Ghost have announced an extensive US tour. The Rats! On The Road tour will see the Grammy Award-winners, along with their painted faces, over-the-top theatricality and Gibson RDs, kick off a six-week tour in Las Vegas on 20 April at the Las Rageous festival. They wrap the tour in St. Paul, Minnesota on 1 June at the Palace Theater. Go here for the full tour schedule.

Ghost, led by band-leader Papa Emeritus (real name Tobias Forge), have also been teasing something over the last few weeks on their social media. Currently, their profile and cover images have all gone black, so expect an announcement shortly. In early February, Forge told Revolver that the new album is “loosely themed around the concept of death and doom. It's a themed album around medieval times, but it's definitely clinging onto a lot of very current things.” The word is, the new Ghost album – the follow-up to 2015’s Grammy-winning Meliora and 2016’s Popestar EP – should release in late spring or early summer.

While we’re on the subject of Ghost, here’s a video of one of the Nameless Ghouls (that’s what the rest of the band members are called) talking about Ghost’s signature Gibson RDs.
